About
Vivian Wiebe is an educator and artist living in Diamond Valley, Alberta, with her husband Dave. She has two married children and four grandchildren. Her children have been, and continue to be, a great blessing and source of inspiration to her.
Vivian has always had a desire to pursue her creative side. She began with her study of music early on, and as the years progressed, she became skilled in the making of porcelain dolls. Then Vivian began to study art, with an interest in all painting mediums. She works toward a goal of artistic excellence without excluding experimentation and personal expression. Vivian has become skillful and innovative in her use of colour, materials and ideas, using various techniques and styles. Her paintings demonstrate an attraction to colour, pattern and form. Vivian is drawn to the inherent luminosity of a finished painting as light passes through vibrant layers of colour. Her paintings are alive, and are seen as an expression of who she really is.
After retiring as a Learning Leader in education, Vivian is now actively involved in teaching art workshops and classes.
Vivian’s work has been exhibited in various art shows in Alberta, and her paintings are in collections in Canada, Europe, and the United States.
